This week we discussed the connection between career, fulfillment, and the meaning we create in our lives. For some people, their career feels deeply connected to who they are and the difference they want to make. For others, work is only one part of a much bigger picture. Meaning can also come from family, service, creativity, community, personal growth, or the way we show up for others.
I’m learning that one title doesn’t have to explain everything I hope to contribute. Different parts of life can shape different parts of who we become, and a meaningful life can be built both inside and outside of our careers. Sometimes the better question may not be, “Have I found my purpose?” but instead, “Am I living intentionally wherever I am?”
This Week’s Perspective Question
Do you believe purpose is something we find through our careers, outside of them, or a little bit of both?
Take a moment to reflect, then share your perspective in the comments below. Feel free to respond to someone else's thoughts as well. We all experience life differently, and sometimes the perspective that changes us most comes from hearing someone else's story. Different perspectives. One conversation.
Thank you for continuing the conversation with In.Real.Life. I look forward to hearing your perspective and seeing you next Friday for another Perspective Letter!
